As an SEMH TA, you will provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to develop emotionally, socially, and academically.Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, promoting engagement and self-confidence.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to deliver individualised support.
- Help create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages emotional well-being.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to supporting students.
- Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude in challenging situations.
- A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps clearly explained.
