The role focuses on providing medical and rehabilitation services for Elite Development Squad (EDS) and U23 players. You will contribute to injury prevention, acute management, and evidence-based rehabilitation to optimise player health, performance, and availability.What We Offer

  • Deliver injury assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and return-to-play programmes for academy players.
  • Contribute to injury prevention through screening and tailored strategies.
  • Provide pitchside cover and emergency aid during training and matches (maintaining ATMMIF accreditation).
  • Collaborate closely with coaching, medical, and sports science staff to ensure a holistic approach to player care.
  • Build strong relationships with players, parents, and coaches to support injury management and recovery.
  • Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge, incorporating the latest clinical and scientific developments into practice.
  • Keep accurate and compliant medical records in line with legislation and club standards.
  • Support the development of academy therapists through Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
What we are looking forEssential
  • Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) membership
  • HCPC registration
  • Valid ATMMIF certification
  • Strong knowledge of MSK injuries, prevention, and rehabilitation strategies
  • Understanding of elite football demands and long-term player development
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays
  • Excellent communication and motivation skills with the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable
  • Previous experience in a football academy or first team environment
  • MSc in a relevant field
  • Substantial experience in elite sport
