Since its opening in 1913, the hall and gardens has held music concerts, royal visits, comedy shows, company dances, pantos and so much more. Putting on circa 250 performances per year, it is a vibrant and exciting place to work with a real diverse variety of live shows and events.The Haymarket Theatre is situated in Leicester City Centre next to the Haymarket Shopping Centre and was opened in 1974 until 2007 as a working Theatre. The Theatre is currently used as a Dance School with occasional evening Dance shows.Join us as a Cleaner and you’ll be a part of a welcoming and friendly team. You’ll work in a busy, fast paced environment to work with the Front of House Supervisors to ensure the safety of our customers and venues before, during and after the event or show by ensuring that De Montfort Hall and Haymarket Theatres are always clean.This is a part-time, permanent post working 15 hours per week. You’ll be required to work on a variety of shifts, across both venues, that will also fit in with show times, but general shift patterns are 5 days from 7 at 07:00 to 10:00, with occasional afternoons and evenings. There will also be a regular Saturday afternoon shift at the Haymarket Theatre.What you’ll be doingWorking on site you’ll carry out the cleaners role working flexibly around show times and events. You’ll liaise with our site supervisors who will issue you our cleaning matrixes for you to follow. Using basic tools and equipment, your day-to-day tasks will include, but not be limited to, cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, emptying litter bins, polishing and deep cleaning designated areas both internal and external. In addition, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that any spillages are cleaned up immediately contributing to the safety of customers and other staff members.What you’ll needAs a person, you’ll take pride in completing tasks to an excellent level and has a reasonable level of cleaning experience this could be within a private sector or public sector. With knowledge of health and safety regulations you'll be able to use and maintain cleaning equipment including vacuums. In addition, you’ll able to work well independently as well as successfully within a team, being a great team player who is willing to be flexible and get stuck in. You’ll have excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to act professional at all times. Within this role, it’s important that you’re physically fit enough to carry the cleaning equipment.
