GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a supportive and inclusive school environment in Ashington. - Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN).
- Assist the class teacher in delivering structured, inclusive learning activities.
- Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
- Encourage the development of pupils’ confidence, independence, and communication skills.
- Support pupils during classroom activities, break times, and transitions.
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment in line with safeguarding policies.
- Experience working with children with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties).
- A calm, nurturing, and flexible approach to supporting individual needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality in an educational setting.
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
