
Mobile Maintenance Electrician (Plant)

- Responding to plant breakdowns, when necessary and be responsible for the correct and efficient repair of equipment keeping downtime to a minimum with timely and safe adherence to the maintenance plan whilst complying to all relevant statutory legislation and the internal company Safety, Health and Environmental standards
- Continuous improvement of plant performance whilst maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliability.
- Utilising documents and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated guidelines for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment within the Electrical Engineering department
- Attend service and reactive breakdowns to fault find, diagnose and repair in a timely and cost-effective manner
- To carry out the day-to-day responsive maintenance, service and repairs as instructed
- To make immediate decisions as regards the repair requirements should the original job order not reflect the actual works required and to inform the relevant manager
- Ensure that all works and repairs are completed safely and in accordance with current codes and practices
- Ensure when purchasing materials, a 'best value and cost-effective approach' is sought
- 18th Edition for Electrical Installations BS 7671
- Experience of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology and Continuous Improvement
- Working knowledge of relevant electrical and control engineering maintenance principles and practices
- Working experience of Industrial Low Voltage power distribution systems
- Good working understanding of PLC's and use of associated tools and techniques for interrogation of software
- Knowledge and understanding of operating AC Drives and Motors
- Knowledge of Planned Predictive Maintenance (PPM)
- Experience in operating a computerised Maintenance Management System
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques
- Ability to design simple electrical systems and draw schematic diagrams and transfer them into practical use
- Ability to perform electrical statutory tests and inspections and understand safe use of electrical test and measuring instruments
- An understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics and understand National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications
- Able to build and retain strong client and staff relationships
- Maintain high standards and follow quality control processes
- Proactive and flexible approach to work
- Testing & Inspection qualification (preferred)
- Level 3 Apprentice trained Electrician and ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering preferred
