Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA) to work full-time in a Year 2 class in a warm and welcoming school in Leckwith (CF11).This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in the classroom while promoting the Welsh language and culture within early years and Key Stage 1 education. About the Role:As a Year 2 TA in a Welsh-medium setting, you will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging, play-based, and curriculum-aligned learning experiences. You’ll support pupils with day-to-day tasks, group activities, and one-to-one interventions – all through the medium of Welsh.✅ Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Welsh-language teaching and learning across the curriculum
- Assisting with small group work and 1:1 support, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and phonics
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in line with school values
- Helping to prepare classroom resources and maintain a stimulating learning environment
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN) if required
- Promoting learning through play, outdoor activities, and creative tasks
- Maintaining a safe, caring and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Is fluent in Welsh (spoken and written) – essential
- Has experience working with children in a primary or early years setting (school or childcare)
- Is confident supporting learners in a Welsh-medium environment
- Is enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about education
- Holds a current DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to apply)
- Can commit to full-time, term-time work (Monday to Friday)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
