The post holder will deliver expert clinical care in cardiac and thoracic surgery, supporting consultants and registrars during procedures and managing patient care across outpatient clinics, preadmission assessments, ward rounds, and discharge planning. Operating at an advanced level, they will lead the cardiothoracic specialty service, manage a patient caseload from diagnosis to discharge or end-of-life, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure high-quality care. A Master's in Surgical Care Practice is required.Main duties of the jobThe Advanced Cardiovascular SCP provides autonomous, expert care for cardiac surgery patients, leading clinics, initiating assessments and treatment plans, assisting in theatre, and managing daily inpatient care.
