They have an exceptionally large client base from large blue-chip companies like Rolls Royce and aerospace companies through to the medical markets.The successful applications engineer will receive world class training from the best of the best in engineering and the companies fantastic market position offers exceptional career security.The Role:
  • Reporting directly to the applications manager you will cover a nationwide territory.
  • Travel away from home is estimated at between 3-5 days per week at peak times, with weekend work occasionally required to set up for exhibitions.
  • Attend local and overseas exhibitions.
  • Provide an exceptional level of tech support to the sales team by performing machine demonstrations including setting, programming, and cycle time calculations.
  • Providing customers with training courses, hands on training and after sales telephone and in person support.
  • Calculate realistic and attainable cycle times when required by the sales engineers to make use of the full machine capabilities to achieve the shortest cycle time for customers.
  • Occasionally you may be required to assist the service team with installations for initial set up and operations.
  • Study the features and functionality of new models and attend manufacturers training courses to ensure a high standard of technical support is available when new products launch.
Requirements:
  • A valid driving license.
  • A valid UK passport
  • CAD/CAM knowledge – basic is required as training can be provided if necessary.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as applications engineer with multi axis CNC lathes and machining centres
  • Experience programming test cuts and time studies is important to train other engineers.
  • Substantial knowledge of Siemens, Heidenhain and Fanuc CNC machine control systems is advantageous. Mitsubishi controls knowledge is also welcomed.
  • Time served apprentice trained is preferred.
