Our client, a well-established practice in Liverpool, is seeking a Compliance Officer to oversee and maintain the firm's regulatory, risk, and compliance framework across a busy caseload of Civil Litigation and Wills & Probate matters.The Role: As Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the firm operates in full accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, managing both preventative and responsive compliance processes. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Acting as the firm's Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) where required.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Managing risk assessments, audits, and file reviews.
  • Advising partners and staff on compliance, regulatory, and anti-money laundering requirements.
  • Staying up to date with legislative and regulatory changes and communicating these effectively within the firm.
  • Supporting ongoing training and promoting a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
About You:
  • Previous experience in a Compliance role within a law firm is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of SRA Standards & Regulations, AML, and other relevant legal frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance to colleagues at all levels.
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and proactive in identifying and mitigating risks.
