UCL's Open Access Team delivers green and gold open access services for all UCL academics, including facilitating compliance with funders' open access policies, and managing open access budgets and publisher agreements. The Open Access Advisors are responsible for the day-to-day running of key open access services.Working in a small team, the postholders will advise academics on gold open access and research funders' policies (including UKRI, Wellcome, CRUK and BHF), implement workflows for publisher agreements, organise gold open access payments, advise on rights retention and contribute to service developments.These two posts are full-time grade 6 maternity cover roles, to start as soon as practicable. The salary is £ 36,433 per annum, including London Allowance. These roles have an initial funding end date of 31 March 2026, but are likely to be extended beyond that date.These roles are eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of one day per fortnight on site.These roles do not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out these roles.The advert will close on the published date at 23:59 GMT. Interviews will be carried out in person.We are looking for candidates who in particular have the following experience and skills:
  • A thorough understanding of open access issues;
  • Practical experience of delivering open access services;
  • Experience of organising team processes and processing financial information electronically.
