As well as operating the Emirati Genome Programme, M42 runs Abu Dhabi BioBank and Abu Dhabi Health Data Services (ADHDS), a global tech-enabled healthcare company operating Malaffi.Providing predictive wastewater surveillance, advanced industrial testing, and comprehensive environmental tracking and reporting services through cutting-edge analytics.As a Laboratory Specialist, you will play a key role in handling and preparing samples for environmental testing, with responsibilities across chemistry andmicrobiology. You will ensure accuracy in laboratory processes, compliance with quality standards, and contribute to method development and continuous improvement. Responsibilities:
  • Receiving, labeling, registering, and preparing water samples.
  • Performing enhanced/specialist laboratory tests in organic and inorganic chemistry as well as microbiology,
  • Maintaining and calibrating analytical instruments (pH meters, balances, spectrometers).
  • Ensuring compliance with EHS regulations in handling laboratory waste.
  • Supporting quality assurance, SOP adherence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recording, analyzing, and reporting laboratory data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Assisting in the training and mentorship of junior staff.
Qualifications:
  • BSc in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Lab Technician/Technologist in an environmental testing lab (water/wastewater focus).
  • Strong knowledge of organic/inorganic chemistry and microbiological techniques.
  • Skilled in laboratory instrumentation, QA/QC processes, and data handling.
