- Serve as the principal point of contact for managing the end-to-end coordination of Federal, provincial, state, and local income tax return filings for Ipsen’s North American affiliates, in collaboration with external service providers under a co-sourced model.
- Responsible for the preparation and review of quarterly estimated tax payments and forecasting of cash tax payment.
- Lead the preparation of Federal and state income tax provisions for financial reporting purposes including reconciliation of taxes reported on returns to provision and completion of tax reporting packages in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.
- Direct the coordination and resolution of Federal, provincial, state, and local tax audits.
- Conduct tax research to support positions taken in tax filings, as required.
- Monitor evolving tax legislation and drive implementation of applicable changes.
- Provide timely and accurate responses to tax-related inquiries from cross-functional teams.
- Manage the calculation of accruals for non-income taxes.
- Prepare gross receipts tax returns for Ipsen’s U.S. affiliates.
- Oversee and coordinate the filing of sales and use tax returns through external service providers and advise on taxability determinations as required.
- Coordinate the preparation of personal property tax returns.
- Ensure timely and compliant preparation of annual reports for Ipsen entities in designated jurisdictions.
- Contribute to the implementation and optimization of tax reporting and return systems.
- Support the collection and analysis of data related to transfer pricing and withholding requirements for foreign vendors.
- Contribute to the preparation of Federal, provincial, and state R&D tax credits.
- Minimum of 8 years of corporate tax experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and provide oversight of projects, tax operations, and collaborative efforts, even without formal direct reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Expert proficiency in Excel (including the ability to manage large amounts of data with pivot tables and vlookup functionality) and Word required; proficiency in PowerPoint preferred
- Proficiency in tax research software required
- Strong familiarity with financial and reporting systems; experience with SAP (including BFC), TMI, and MicroStrategy is a plus
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- Experience in Big 4, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industries is preferred.
- B.S. in Accounting required or Finance degree with relevant experience
- CPA preferred; candidates with equivalent education and/or relevant experience will also be considered.
