With a focus on collaboration, supplier relationships, and cost efficiency, this position offers a strong foundation for growth and future progression.As a Purchasing Assistant, you’ll be responsible for procuring goods, services, and equipment to support daily operations, ensuring materials are sourced cost-effectively while maintaining quality and delivery expectations. You'll play a key role in supplier communication, contract management, and market research, while working closely with internal stakeholders to meet operational demands.The salary for the Purchasing Assistant is £27,475, with a benefits package that includes ongoing development, a supportive team culture and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on purchasing efficiency and supplier performance. Working hours are 8.30 - 5.30 with a 4.30 finish on Fridays.Key ResponsibilitiesSource goods, services, and equipment required for daily operationsMaintain strong relationships with suppliers and follow up on deliveriesResearch new products, suppliers, and market trendsSupport contract negotiations and maintain accurate recordsPresent cost analyses to the Procurement Manager and departmental headsContribute to strategic procurement decisions and cost-saving initiativesEnsure compliance with procurement policies and proceduresStay current with industry developments and trendsKey RequirementsPrevious experience in a purchasing or procurement support roleStrong knowledge of manufacturing production and processes (desirable)Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and colleaguesExcellent attention to detail and strong analytical thinking skillsFlexible, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing needsCommercial awareness and interest in emerging trends in procurementReady to take the next step in your procurement career?
