
Planning Engineer

- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Support the development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), logic sequencing, and critical path analysis.
- Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect actual performance and forecasted outcomes.
- Provide schedule data and analysis to support project reporting, including earned value metrics and performance dashboards.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to gather planning input and ensure alignment across workstreams.
- Support change control processes by assessing the impact of proposed changes on the schedule.
- Participate in schedule risk assessments and scenario planning exercises.
- Ensure planning activities comply with internal governance and nuclear industry standards.
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives within the planning function.
- Support multiple projects concurrently, managing competing priorities and ensuring timely delivery of planning outputs.
- The role also requires the ability to support and manage planning activities across multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously, ensuring consistent delivery and prioritisation.
- Experience in a planning or scheduling role within infrastructure, engineering, or nuclear projects.
- Familiarity with nuclear decommissioning processes and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and schedule risk analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, particularly in multi-disciplinary environments.
- Ability to manage planning input across multiple concurrent tasks or projects.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Membership of APM, PMI, or equivalent professional body.
- Familiarity with NEC3/4 contracts and nuclear site licence conditions.
- Security clearance (or ability to obtain) is essential due to the nature of the work.
