Role : Steel FabricatorStarting salary between £19.04 and £20.01 per hourPurpose of Role-Steel Fabricator To assemble and tack together components of products as specified by layout, drawings, diagrams, work orders, weld procedures or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment.Key Objectives of the Role-Steel Fabricator
  • Assembly of various steel components with a focus on EN1090 EXC 2 + 3 requirements and associated dimension control and weld set-up parameters to enable a successful follow-on Welding Activity.
  • Drilling and tapping holes in steel structures, and Oxy-Acetylene cutting.
  • Familiarity with large and medium scale carbon steel fabrications.
  • Experience with Stainless Steel would be desirable.
  • Previous experience in steel fabrication, ideally on Infrastructure Projects, Oil & Gas and Offshore-Wind sector activity.
  • Full time position with opportunity to develop the role to Cell-Leader position.

The business operates in-house Design, Manufacture and Deployment functions from several sites located in Widnes and has a turnover of £30m and employs 160 personnel.Salary NAECI Agreement Rates
  • £19.04 - £20.01 per hour
  • £26.66 - £28.01 Overtime A
  • £34.27 - £36.02 Overtime B
  • Fabricator Proficiency Pay scheme offering the ability increase hourly rate by up to £1.50 per hour.
Schedule
  • 8 hour shift
  • Flat hours Monday Thursday 8.00am 4.30 pm, Friday 8.00am 2.30pm 38 hour week
  • Overtime, currently 10 hours PW and increasing
