  • Lead the Educational Psychology Service and SEMH teams, ensuring efficient and effective delivery across the council.
  • Champion the Local Authority’s Inclusion agenda, enhancing the service’s role within the Children’s Services Directorate and the wider council.
  • Promote positive mental health and wellbeing, liaising with schools, Public Health, and the ICB.
  • Collaborate strategically with children, young people, families, and stakeholders to maximize outcomes at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Strategically oversee alternative provisions and pupil referral units.
  • Ensure high-quality professional practice through innovative staff training and professional supervision.
  • Engage with service users to continually evaluate and improve service delivery and systems.
The ideal candidate will hold a professional postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology and be HCPC registered as a practitioner psychologist. Significant management experience in educational psychology services and the ability to lead at a strategic level are essential.
