
Senior Pharmacy Technician: Dispensary

- Management and prioritisation of workflow in the dispensary.
- Dispensing and accuracy checking prescriptions received.
- Allocating and managing the rota planning for dispensary and support staff to ensure that service needs are met.
- Supporting with managing reported dispensary learning events and working closely with the dispensary learning events group to support improvements and reduce the risk of learning events recurring.
- Completing appraisals, sickness absence reporting and mentoring /training of allocated staff.
- Reviewing and implementing SOPs and competency documents as required.
- Working closely with the Principal Pharmacy Technician to develop the current service.
- Participating in weekend and bank holiday service delivery. This is organised on a rota basis.

- BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences / QCF Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- QCF Level 4 or above in a qualification relevant to the post.
- Good communication & interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to use a range of computer programmes relevant to the post.
- Audit of practice and / or of the impact of a change in the way the service is delivered.
- Able to use own judgement to prioritise tasks.
- Experience in objectives setting for a team.
