
Container Transport Planner

- Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 + Excellent Benefits
- Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday (rotational shifts 06:00–13:00 or 12:00–19:00). Occasional Saturday morning shift (overtime).
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate container transport operations for timely inbound and outbound deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of container movements and associated documentation.
- Monitor schedules and provide swift responses to operational changes or delays.
- Liaise with drivers, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Complete administrative tasks including reporting, data entry, and stakeholder communication.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost efficiency, and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and transport regulations.
- Support the wider team during peak periods and operational challenges.
- Previous experience in container transport planning or a similar logistics role.
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and excellent geographical awareness.
- Commercially aware with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong organisational, time-management, and administrative skills.
- Confident using transport scheduling software and Microsoft Office.
- Self-reliant, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
