Container Transport PlannerA leading operator within the transport sector is seeking a Container Transport Planner to join their busy planning team in Garston.   • Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 + Excellent Benefits
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday (rotational shifts 06:00–13:00 or 12:00–19:00). Occasional Saturday morning shift (overtime).
Responsibilities for this Container Transport Planner role:
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate container transport operations for timely inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of container movements and associated documentation.
  • Monitor schedules and provide swift responses to operational changes or delays.
  • Liaise with drivers, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Complete administrative tasks including reporting, data entry, and stakeholder communication.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost efficiency, and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and transport regulations.
  • Support the wider team during peak periods and operational challenges.
Skills/Experience required for this Container Transport Planner role:
  • Previous experience in container transport planning or a similar logistics role.
  • Strong knowledge of transport legislation and excellent geographical awareness.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong organisational, time-management, and administrative skills.
  • Confident using transport scheduling software and Microsoft Office.
  • Self-reliant, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
