The successful candidate will be expected to work in Haematology, Biochemistry and Blood transfusion and support a single departmental on-call service in all three disciplines.Spire Southampton Hospital offers world-class care, attracting patients from across the South of England and internationally. Our Critical Care department and multidisciplinary team offer you peace of mind for our wide range of treatments.Duties and responsibilities:As a Biomedical Scientist in Pathology, your role is to assist in the organisation, management and development of services across a range of services provided by the laboratory.You will liaise with the Laboratory Consultant and the Pathology Manager, to ensure the provision of the high quality service in an efficient and cost effective manner. Other duties will include, but not be limited to:
Analyse, interpret and report information and knowledge related to ideas and concepts.
Develop and evaluate the movement of laboratory specimens and blood.
Assist with research and development.
Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
Who we're looking for:
You must be a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with no restrictions on practice
You must be experienced in either Blood Transfusion, Haematology or Chemical Pathology
2 years' experience post state registration experience is essential
Excellent communication skills
Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5hrs per week, with a combination of earlies, lates and weekends.You will be required to take part in the on-call rota outside of these core hours and must live 30 minutes of the hospital to be able to respond urgent requests.Contract Type: PermanentBenefitsWe offer employed colleagues a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package which includes but is not limited to:
