Trainee Emissions Monitoring Technician, CirencesterAre you interested in Air & Emissions? We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee to join our UKAS accredited Air & Emissions Team. As a Trainee Emissions Monitoring Technician you'll be supporting our experts with the testing and monitoring of building foundations at the forefront of a variety of projects. This is a great opportunity to train and develop your skills in a specialised area, aid professional progression, and get stuck in with some exciting projects across the UK in a hands-on learning environment.This opportunity is a great way to kick start your career with SOCOTEC, gaining vital knowledge through our training programmes, and real life experience. We act with integrity, providing support and guidance at every stage during your early career.The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
  • Monitoring emissions to documented procedures, published standards and protocols and industry best practice
  • Preparing detailed and accurate technical reports for the client
  • Working to SOCOTEC's Health & Safety Policies and customers' site rules and procedures contained in the SOCOTEC Quality Manual
  • Undertaking any equipment maintenance, calibration, or kit preparation tasks, as required plus laboratory duties and report writing
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
  • A degree or equivalent in an environmental/scientific discipline
  • An interest to develop a career in stack emissions monitoring using manual sampling and instrumental analysing techniques
  • A desire to work outdoors and at heights on occasions at a variety of industrial locations, which can be physically and mentally challenging
  • Availability to work away from home during the working week for some days during each month
  • A full driving licence, and a flexible and positive attitude
