Day-to-day, you will:
- Lead and support a team of engineers responsible for keeping our platforms stable, secure and high-performing, while also handling HR tasks like training plans and scheduling.
- Help resolve technical issues and service requests using our internal ticketing system, ensuring we meet or exceed agreed service levels.
- Provide guidance on infrastructure for our Direct Debit products and support environments across AWS and multiple data centres.
- Drive improvements to how we work, from security patching and disaster recovery to systems monitoring and service automation.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, and tools such as Terraform for managing infrastructure.
- A solid background in systems engineering across Windows, Linux, and databases like MySQL or AWS Aurora.
- Knowledge of scripting (e.g. PowerShell or shell scripting) to automate tasks and streamline processes.
- Familiarity with SSL certificate management, networking, and system monitoring tools like CloudWatch or Splunk.
