We have an exciting opportunity for 1.33 whole time equivalent permanent band 3 Assistant Speech & Language Therapist to work with the adult team. Our current post holders are taking up Masters courses in speech & language therapy this Autumn. These could be full or part time contracts. The posts are based at the Community Base, Denton Park Health Centre and at the RVI and Freeman Hospitals delivering a service to people with acquired communication and or swallowing problems. The role involves supporting the work of speech and language therapists by providing routine administration duties, preparing materials for assessment and delivering delegated interventions directly with patients and their carers. Patients are largely seen at home, nursing homes and at hospital bedside. We require someone with excellent communication skills who has work experience of adults and preferably those with impaired communication. Knowledge of e-record is desirable. Our chosen candidate will be a supportive team member with lots of energy, a flexible approach to each working day and a genuine interest in people.
