- Play a key role in driving origination and expanding our footprint in the £10m–£50m lending segment.
- Leverage your technical expertise to structure tailored lending solutions, particularly around stabilisation and transitional assets.
- Operate within a collaborative and agile team environment, supported by robust credit, legal, and operational infrastructure.
- Contribute to the evolution of our lending strategy, product development, and market positioning.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in mid-market lending, with a strong emphasis on structured property finance, bridging, and stabilisation facilities.
- Proven ability to originate and execute complex transactions, including stabilisation loans at practical completion, where properties transition from development to income-generating assets.
- Exposure to a broad range of asset classes, including residential development, PBSA, commercial real estate, trading businesses and mixed-use schemes.
- A well-established network of introducers, brokers, and Key Business Influencers (KBIs) operating in the £10 million+ lending space.
- Strong credit analysis and structuring skills, with the ability to assess cash flow risks, understand lease-up dynamics, and evaluate mitigating factors to ensure covenant compliance during stabilisation periods.
- Understand the bank’s products and services, proactively identify and action sales opportunities in order to meet business objectives.
- Meet growth, performance and income targets through the proactive development of new business from professional networks.
- Independently assess, critically evaluate, prepare and submit applications for loan facilities, ensuring appropriate commentary and analysis to aid decision making to the high standards expected.
- Proactively manage all transactions from credit assessment through to completion alongside Transaction Execution Manager.
- Ensure an effective post-drawdown handover is provided to colleagues who will assume direct responsibility for the connection.
- Maintain delivery of a high quality service to customers as required.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key business partners to maximise potential growth of business.
- Build knowledge and understanding of relevant markets and customers in order to anticipate and meet their needs.
- Monitor market developments and competitor activity. Recommend and implement appropriate action to ensure the Bank competes effectively.
- Proactively support monitoring of the credit portfolio and take action as necessary to minimise risk and ensure quality account management.
- Review credit applications in accordance with policy and take action as necessary to minimise risks and ensure quality account management of the credit portfolio.
- Ensure that all clients are fully compliant with the Bank’s AML policies and procedures.
- Ensure that KYC procedures including the requirements for periodic reviews in accordance with the AML framework on all customer connections are maintained and recorded.
- Manage relevant Management Information and ensure appropriate action is reported.
- Provide input to Bank policy including lending guidelines, product development and overall risk management.
- Support the design and implementation of the banking strategy, including achievement of growth, income targets and adherence to the Bank’s standards in respect of operational and regulatory risk.
