Do you want to make a meaningful impact by helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally?GSL Education are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality support to pupils in schools across Dronfield.As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work alongside teachers to support pupils’ learning and development. You will assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment, helping students with their academic tasks, social skills, and behavioural development. The role involves working both one-to-one and in small groups, preparing resources, and supporting pupils to achieve their learning goals.To be a successful Teaching Assistant (TA), your responsibilities will be:
- Support class teachers in delivering lessons effectively.
- Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to pupils needing additional help.
- Assist with classroom management and encourage positive behaviour.
- Prepare and organise learning resources.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes when required.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to meet pupil needs.
- Promote pupil independence and confidence in learning.
- Assist with school trips and extracurricular activities as needed.
- Experience working in UK schools or similar educational settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting pupils.
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable).
- A degree in Education, psychology or a similar field.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
