Pay: Dependent on Skills and ExperienceTeaching Personnel are working in partnership with a Secondary Alternative Provision in Blackburn to recruit a Reading Intervention Specialist to start as soon as possible. This is a part-time opportunity (2 days per week) with flexible days and the chance to make a real difference to young people who need targeted literacy support.Although the role is within a secondary setting, the successful candidate must have a secure understanding of the primary phonics curriculum, as many of the learners are working below age-related expectations in reading.Role responsibilities include:Planning and delivering effective reading interventionsUsing phonics-based approaches to support struggling readersAssessing progress and adapting support accordinglyWorking closely with teaching staff and SEN teamsBuilding positive relationships with learners who may have experienced barriers to educationIdeal candidates will have:Experience working across primary and/or secondary settingsStrong knowledge of synthetic phonics and early reading strategiesA nurturing and patient approach to learning supportThe ability to manage behaviour positively and consistentlyThis is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about literacy and inclusion, looking to work in a flexible, part-time role within a specialist setting.If you are interested, please click apply now and Keira will be in touch within 48hours to discuss next steps.All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
