Brent's diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.The PostThis is an exciting opportunity to head up a new team delivering low carbon heat networks in the borough and to lead a cross-council transformation programme to achieve and maintain compliance with new heat network regulations.Brent currently operates over 2,000 customer heat connections which is projected to exceed 4,000 by 2028. Heat networks will play a significant role in helping the council to achieve its net zero ambitions.The post will be responsible for strategic and operational oversight of Brent Council's existing heat networks and the viability and commissioning of new heat networks.The post will also establish the operational systems and processes necessary for effective and compliant heat network management, ensuring that schemes remain financially viable and provide affordable heat to residents.The PersonWe are seeking a skilled and adaptable individual with a strong record of delivering complex projects and achieving measurable outcomes. You should demonstrate a commitment to service improvement and a focus on the needs of end-users.You will bring, or be prepared to rapidly develop, a good understanding of heat networks, relevant regulations, and consumer protection principles.You'll have experience leading both direct reports and cross-functional teams and will be confident in navigating the requirements in a local government setting.Our Offer to YouIn addition to your salary, you will also get to enjoy the following benefits:
