About the roleWe're a law firm that specialises in media, technology, sport and intellectual property. For more information, seeOur Data Protection team is sector-focused and specialises in advising clients in the Betting & Gaming, Video Games, Sport, Film & TV and Media sectors. Like all firms, we support our Corporate and Employment teams, but unlike most our focus is providing direct advice to clients on data protection and privacy matters. We are now recruiting a Senior Data Protection Associate. Our focus is on advising clients directly, including data protection impact assessments, litigation, ICO investigations, data protection impact assessments, commercial contracts, audits, data breach assessments and notifications, and responding to rights requests. It is now obligatory to mention AI, so here goes: over the last few years we have supported several clients on the use of AI, specifically when AI is developed using personal data; and where it produces outputs that impact data subjects. We work with some of the world's best-known companies in Film & TV, Sport, Betting & Gaming and Video Games. Each of these sectors poses unique and exciting challenges in relation to data protection. Betting & Gaming clients need to understand how data protection interacts with extensive gambling regulation on safer gambling, profiling and marketing; Video Games clients need to understand the privacy requirements when allowing children to play online; and Film & TV and Media require advice on the artistic and journalism exemptions. You will assume a high level of responsibility and play a pivotal role in driving the success of our practice in this area, whilst supporting Partner , who leads our Data Protection Practice.About you
