- Student Behaviour Support: Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
- Mentoring: Build strong, trusting relationships with students, providing guidance and support for their social and emotional development.
- Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by adhering to school policies and procedures.
- Classroom Assistance: Work closely with teachers to support the learning and engagement of students in lessons.
- Interventions: Implement personalised behaviour support plans and targeted interventions to help students manage their emotions.
- Team Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, SENCOs, and mental health professionals, to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Experience as a Prison Officer or in a similarly challenging environment.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgemental approach when working with students with complex needs.
- A passion for helping young people with SEMH challenges achieve their potential.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and maintain a flexible, proactive attitude.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
