Flexible working will be part of the discussion at offer stage.PURPOSE OF THE ROLEThis role will lead the development and delivery of a BBC Future Network that will converge enterprise, office, media and control networks onto a multi-tenanted Arista fabric in the BBC's new home in Birmingham, The Tea Factory. Working closely with the project team, Architects, Solution and Product Managers you will document, design, configure, test and handover the network into support. Initially a role for 18 months the right candidate may have the role extended to work on other flagship BBC projects.WHY JOIN THE TEAMThe Programmes & Project Delivery department is leading the design and delivery of a flagship BBC project that will deliver state of the art media and broadcast technology into the BBC's new home in Birmingham, The Tea Factory. The team offers a flexible approach to working, focussing on outcomes and results, engaging with thought leaders across the industry on a daily basis.YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:The key responsibility of the role is to design, deliver, configure, test and handover a BBC large site multi-tenanted network into the BBC's new home in Birmingham, The Tea Factory. The impact will be a large site template for the BBC to deploy at BBC sites in the UK and across the world.YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
  • Experience in the design, delivery or support of Arista networks, technical systems and infrastructure within a media technology environment.
  • Knowledge of Arista networks, systems, test and handover procedures.
  • Knowledge of Arista networks and systems engineering for key operational criteria (monitoring integration, performance testing, security considerations).
  • Experience of applying new and emerging technologies within media technology projects and products.
  • Motivated and organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and drive delivery to time and budget whilst minimising risk.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
  • Experience of translating network requirements from a variety of network owners into documentation and design collateral.
  • Experience of using network requirements to design, configure, deliver and test network infrastructure.
  • Experience of delivering a multi-tenanted network that incorporates enterprise/office networks, media and control networks on the same network fabric (Arista).
  • Knowledge or experience of working with media/technology tools (hardware and software).
  • Knowledge of web architecture and key technologies (HTTP, DNS, distributed design).
  • Knowledge of broadcast or datacentre infrastructure installations including power, environmental and space layout considerations.
