- Analyse and interpret data on water resources, usage, and quality.
- Be familiar with the benefits and constraints of water efficiency, water re-use systems, and sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS) and technologies.
- Have an understanding of surface and foul drainage issues, risks, concept design and design development, including a working knowledge of SuDS strategies.
- Develop and evaluate plans and strategies for water resource management, conservation and protection, such as water neutrality, nature based solutions and nutrient neutrality schemes.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to clients, stakeholders, and regulators on water-related issues and solutions, ideally with previous experience dealing with the Environment Agency and/or Natural England on water resource issues.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and input into Environmental Impact Assessments for a range of development types.
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and presentations on water resource
- Collaborate with other professionals such as engineers, planners, hydrologists, and ecologists on multidisciplinary projects (this will include our own public-health engineers).
- Keep up to date with the latest research, trends, and regulations in the field of water resources.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables
- Strong project management skills, with experience of managing projects from start to finish.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the potential to engage and influence at all levels.
- Strong commercial awareness, with experience of identifying and developing business opportunities as well as the preparation of winning proposals.
- Excellent report-writing, technical review, numerical and analytical skills, with an eye for detail and enjoy solving challenging hydrogeological / hydrological problems.
presentation skills.The successful candidate will have at least 7 years relevant work experience in consultancy or the water industry with a relevant academic background. Candidates should have a good first degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydrology, or water resources management and ideally a Masters Degree in an environmental discipline related to hydrology.
