Prospero Teaching are currently seeking enthusiastic and proactive learning support assistants for a well-regarded mainstream secondary school in St Helens.You will be part of a very supportive SEN Department, and you will be supporting students 1 to 1 who are struggling with their studies and may be disengaged with their learning.This role would be ideal for graduates, and those with an interest in supporting young people who need that little bit extra!Experience within a classroom is not mandatory, however you must have knowledge and awareness around SEN.
Some students may present with ADHD, autism, emotional regulation difficulties or trauma.
The ideal candidate will be calm, and have a passion for supporting and developing young people.Contract Details:
  • Role: Secondary TA (SEMH)
  • Location: St Helens
  • Hours: 0830:1500 (during term time)
  • Rate of pay: £96 - £110
  • Type of work: Temporary
  • Full time/part time: Full time only
  • Start date: 01/09/2025
  • Duration: Ongoing (Temp / Temp to Perm)
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
  • Up to date Safeguarding training in the last year (can be provided if needed)
  • Previous experience with Team Teach training, or willing to be trained in it
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant is preferred
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide professional references covering 2 years
