Job DescriptionIT Security SpecialistFull Time 37.5 hours per weekRemote Working to include regular national travelSalary up to £55,000 per annumThe IT Security Specialist is responsible for strengthening, maintaining, and improving the technical security posture of Ramsay Health Care UK. The role ensures compliance with relevant standards, leads investigations of security incidents, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support the organisation’s broader cyber security objectives.What you’ll doMaintain and continuously improve technical information security controls, including network, cloud, application, and endpoint security.Lead investigations into IT security incidents, including breach analysis, reporting, and remediation.Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 27001 certification, NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DSPT), and Ramsay Global cyber metrics.Act as first responder for escalated IT security tickets raised through the service desk.Conduct regular audits of systems, applications, and suppliers to assess and strengthen information security.Provide cyber security awareness, training, and support across the organisation.Maintain internal and external audit schedules and implement action plans as necessary.Support the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.Collaborate on cross-functional security initiatives and projects.Ensure effective use and oversight of tools within the Microsoft E5 security suite.What you’ll bringExperience with cloud platforms (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), especially from a security management perspectiveGreat people skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical risks for non-technical stakeholdersExperience with Network Access Control (NAC) technologiesIn-depth understanding of endpoint security across all supported Windows environmentsProven ability to identify and address security risks without disrupting business operationsExperience developing policy and procedure documentation to support governanceExposure to a wide variety of client and server endpoint security solutions covering Windows clients – all supported versionsAbility to present complex security matters in an understandable format at all timesIdeally you’ll haveWorking knowledge of the full Microsoft Security stack (E5 license tools)Experience with Varonis and ForeScoutExperience working with SIEM/SOAR platformsFamiliarity with Linux-based systemsPrevious experience in the healthcare sector is advantageousEducation & CertificationsDemonstrated experience and effectiveness in information security roles preferred over formal education/certificationRelevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate)Experience within the healthcare industryBenefits25 Days Leave + Bank HolidaysBuy & Sell Flexi Leave OptionsPrivate Pension where Ramsay will match up to 5% after a qualifying periodEnhanced Competitive Parental Leave PoliciesPrivate Medical Cover with option to add partner & dependantsLife Assurance (Death in Service) x3 base salaryFree Training and Development via the Ramsay AcademyConcerts for CarersEmployee Assistance ProgrammeCycle2Work scheme available, in partnership with HalfordsThe Blue Light Card SchemeAbout UsRamsay Health Care UK is a well-established global hospital group with over 60 years’ experience.
