Description:SALARIED GP / GP PARTNER
6-8 SESSIONS PER WEEKKirkview Medical Practice would like to invite applications from enthusiastic individuals keen to work within our team and looking for a position as a salaried GP, with or without a view to becoming a GP Partner in the future. We pride ourselves on providing high quality service care, tailored to meet the needs of our 7500 patients.Our established clinical team consists of 3 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, an ANP, a Practice Nurse, and a Health Care Assistant. Admin team consists of Practice Manager, Office Supervisor and full complement of Administrative staff. We are supported within the practice by our District Nursing and Health Visiting teams, the Urgent Care Team, our practice-assigned Pharmacist and Community Link Worker, and our Treatment Room offering onsite Phlebotomy, wound care and chronic disease monitoring services. Kirkview Medical Practice are a West of Scotland training practice, and we welcome GP trainees throughout the year. Currently we have an ST3 in position but regularly have both ST1 and ST3. We have 2 GP Trainers but the whole team is involved in supervision, support and training of our STs. We work on a 15-minute appointment system.The practice is based within Hunter Community Health Centre, a Health & Social Care purpose-built premises in the heart of East Kilbride. Within the building, there are five GP practices, District Nursing services, Community Mental Health teams, Treatment Room hubs, Sexual Health clinics and midwifery clinics. We have designated parking in our multi-storey car park.We are looking for two GPs to work 6-8 sessions per week, although would be willing to consider a different working pattern for the right candidate. The post would be an ideal position for both experienced GPs looking to explore new ways of working, or for GPST3 candidates who will be ready to join a practice in the near future. We have recently embarked on Group Consultations training and undertaken our first virtual engagement session and group consult for women experiencing menopause. We hope to expand this to aid in access to services and improve both patient and clinician satisfaction. We are interested in promoting Lifestyle Medicine to manage and prevent chronic disease and ill health and especially welcome candidates with similar interests.Key Information
  • List size of approximately 7500 patients
  • Clinical systems: Vision & Docman, with SCI Gateway for referrals and Clinical Portal
  • Monthly MDT practice meetings, daily informal lunch breaks with other clinicians
  • Varied working days- mixture of face to face appointments (15 minute slots) and telephone consultations. On-call rota which incorporates home visits, Care home allocation and weekly visits, participation in GPST tutorials and mentoring
  • Eligibility for 'Golden Hello' payment subject to meeting required criteria
  • On-site parking and provision of parking permits
