- Manage and supervise site foremen, steel erectors, and subcontractors.
- Oversee subcontractor selection and monitor on-site progress.
- Maintain strict adherence to Health & Safety and quality standards.
- Provide regular updates to management on project progress and commercial matters.
- Proactively assess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
- Ensure accurate site records for labour, plant, materials, and staff to support cost substantiation.
- Record, track, and report variations and additions in line with contract requirements.
- Assist in preparing final project accounts.
- Actively participate in project meetings and resolve commercial or technical issues.
- Strong background in structural steel projects, ideally with a steelwork fabricator/erector.
- Previous Contracts Management experience in industrial and commercial sectors (high-rise projects advantageous).
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
- Detailed knowledge of steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 18001, and CE Marking.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and engineers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines.
- IT skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel. Experience with StrucCad, Strumis, AutoCAD, or Tekla is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years' site experience, with at least 3 years working directly in structural steel contracts.
