As part of the project team you will contribute to overall project delivery and will find this position highly rewarding.We are looking for an Engineering Geologist to support the existing team in our Guildford office. This role will involve a combination of office work and site visits.
  • Minimum 2.1 degree or Masters in Applied or Engineering Geology with experience in the field of engineering geology and geotechnics (minimum of five years’ experience, but all applications will be considered)
  • Has proven technical knowledge of specific subject areas pertaining to geotechnical works and proven ability to use relevant software
  • Experience and understanding of rock mapping, stereonets, kinematic assessment and risk assessment
  • Experience and understanding of slope stability assessment
  • Experienced & confident with report writing and presentation skills
  • Can effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and outside agencies and build effective working relationships and always aiming to exceeding client expectations
  • Degree qualified in relevant field and achieved/working towards chartered status
  • Adheres to all Codes of Practice, Design Standards and Health and Safety Regulations
  • Represent and promote Ayesa in a professional manner and develop effective working relationships with clients and potential clients
  • Committed to Continued Professional Development
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
Key Accountabilities:
  • Working as member of a project team to deliver quality services to clients
  • Ensures all geotechnical designs are in accordance with set standards and all recommendations are robust, value-based and commissionable
  • Ensures that designs are delivered on time to our clients and that the design fulfils the client’s brief
  • Inspects construction work and ensures that all aspects of design are correctly implemented
  • Monitors processes and results and ensure that they comply with relevant safety, legal, ethical and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions and exercise initiative
  • Assisting at the tender stage of projects
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data
  • Demonstrates problem solving attributes, attention to detail and time management
