As a Senior Software Engineer at Sage, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality products, systems, or services that surpass customer and business partner expectations. You will also proactively share expertise on technical solutions and business processes within your area of responsibility.You'll be joining a team of highly capable engineers who really care about what they do and thrive on collaboration and working as an Agile team to achieve amazing solutions to everyday business needs.***Please note that this is a hybrid role, requiring you to work onsite at our Newcastle/Barcelona offices three days per week.***Key Responsibilities • Successfully develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality software (requirements, design, code, documentation, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Solution Designers early in the process to ensure the product is flexible, scalable, and resilient.
  • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.
  • Collaborate across teams, including product management, QA/XD, various product lines, and business units, to drive results.
  • Identify and resolve performance issues to ensure optimal application efficiency and scalability.
Our Windows desktop development stack includes:C / C++ (majority of the code)
NET Framework: C#, WPF, Prism, NUnit, etc

  • Collaborate with Solution Designers early in the process to ensure the product is flexible, scalable, and resilient.

  • Collaborate across teams, including product management, QA/XD, various product lines, and business units, to drive results.
  • Identify and resolve performance issues to ensure optimal application efficiency and scalability.
Essential requirements:
  • Strong experience with C / C++
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows desktop application development
  • Experience with .NET Framework; C#, WPF, Prism, NUnit
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and/or extreme programming methodologies
Preferred:
- Some knowledge of Payroll software (preferred but not essential)
- Familiar with common UI design patterns like MVVM, MVC and MVP
- Familiar with Web Services and Rest APIs
- Familiar with GIT, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins and AWS technologies
- Familiar with Unit Testing / MOCK frameworks
- Interested in writing high quality, robust code involving approaches such as unit testing, code coverage and static code analysis.
- Naturally curious, thrives on learning new technologies and bringing new ideas into the teams to explore
