- Manage and develop Birkbeck's current academic quality assurance framework, including module and programme approval & amendment, periodic reviews and quality monitoring, and the management of external examiners and other external subject specialists.
- Support the maintenance of academic regulatory, policy and governance arrangements, including undertaking regulatory & policy review and acting as secretary to committees and sub-committees as determined by the Head of Academic Standards and Quality.
- Provide advice and guidance on quality assurance systems and processes so they operate effectively and efficiently.
- Provide regular updates and develop and deliver training to staff across the institution in matters pertaining to academic quality & standards.
- Have experience in managing quality assurance and enhancement in higher education, particularly data-driven approaches to quality.
- Have the ability to manage complex workloads, working with staff at all levels to ensure centrally agreed policy is implemented & adopted fairly and consistently across all faculties and schools.
- Have excellent oral and written skills with the ability to produce clear policies, procedures reports and presentations and convey complex information with confidence.
- Be proactive in identifying areas for development & enhancement.
- Be comfortable working with and advising staff at all levels across the institution.
