Our client, a leading Further Education College, is seeking an experienced Lecturer in Bricklaying & Multi-Skills to join their dynamic Construction and Motor Vehicle Department.This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching across a range of construction programmes while contributing to course development and departmental growth.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning Excellence:
  • Deliver inspirational teaching across various programmes to learners of all ages and abilities
  • Create and maintain comprehensive teaching materials and electronic resources
  • Prepare schemes of work and assessment in line with awarding body requirements
  • Integrate Maths & English into vocational curriculum alongside colleagues
Student Support & Development:
  • Act as course tutor, supporting learners to achieve their individual targets
  • Track student progress and maintain detailed records
  • Provide regular feedback to students, parents/guardians, and employers
  • Coordinate and support work placement programmes
Recruitment & Promotion:
  • Assist with student recruitment and admission processes
  • Represent the college at internal and external promotional events
  • Contribute to marketing and publicity materials
Professional Development:
  • Build and maintain industry links with construction professionals
  • Engage in continuous professional development within your specialist area
  • Work collaboratively with awarding body representatives
Essential RequirementsQualifications:
  • Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Construction (Bricklaying qualifications highly desirable)
  • GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Experience:
  • Substantial, recent industrial experience in Bricklaying or Construction Maintenance
  • Proven ability to work with people of varying ages and abilities
Skills & Attributes:
  • Current Health & Safety knowledge for the construction industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational abilities with deadline management skills
  • High-level IT skills for creating teaching resources
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners
  • Team-working capabilities and collaborative approach

Desirable Qualifications
