As part of this continued growth, we are looking for an additional Approval Engineer to join our Type Approval team. The successful candidate will oversee product approval for national and international markets and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to secure required system and vehicle approvals.The Role:
  • Producing and collating reports/documentation, including 2D CAD drawings, for approval authority submission.
  • Managing and maintaining various departmental documents and records.
  • Collaborating with other departments to obtain Vehicle Type Approval for Wrightbus products.
  • Assessing regulatory impacts on bus design, manufacture, and use in targeted business markets.
  • Working with departments to secure approvals in countries targeted for vehicle placement.
  • Reviewing vehicle designs and specifications to ensure validity of prior approvals.
  • Developing test plans, strategies, and coordinating test programs with external agencies.
  • Regularly assessing and interpreting regulations.
  • Creating in-house test plans to ensure product compliance with Wrightbus approvals.
  • Resolving regulatory non-compliance issues in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Liaising with internal and external agencies to maintain Conformity of Production and ISO accreditation.
  • Undertaking and providing relevant training for effective post operation.
  • Performing other duties essential to the role's effective operation.
The Requirements:
  • Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or General Engineering
  • 2 years proven experience in a compliance/quality-based role within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of managing projects
  • Ability to understand technical drawings/models.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong Communication Skills, both verbal and written are essential.
  • Competent in MS Office Applications, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Theoretical knowledge of good engineering disciplines
