  • Teaching Personnel are a recruiter for schools in the local area, having been established for over 25 years.
  • We are currently looking to recruit three teaching assistants to work within a local 3-19 special needs school, starting in the new academic year in September.
  • If you are somebody already employed in education looking to take a step up to a more hands on role, or somebody coming from another relevant sector looking to enter the world of education, this role may be exactly what you’re looking for!
What will the role involve?
  • Working alongside the classroom teacher, to help with their learning plans for the pupils in the class.
  • On the job training through the school, helping you better understand the schools aims and culture.
  • A real chance to contribute to the ethos of the school.
  • Going and providing assistance on school trips to local recreational spots, including beach trips, shopping trips and more!
  • Providing 1:1 support to the pupils within the class. All pupils have statements in regard to their behaviour & learning difficulties (You will be working with children with Autism, ADHD & Mental Health Conditions)
  • Providing valuable feedback on the students to the class teacher and members of the senior leadership team
  • Additional development opportunities through Teaching Personnel always available, including our Team Teach training which is invaluable to furthering your development.
While we aren’t looking for anything in terms of qualifications, the ideal candidate will have one or more of the following:
  • Level 2 or level 3 childcare qualification, but this isn’t essential.
  • Prior experience in the care & support sector – particularly working with vulnerable adults with learning difficulties, or working with individuals with personal care requirements (peg feeding & manual handling)
  • A qualification in Psychology, Child Development or Health & Social Care
  • An interest in outdoor activities – whether this be being a part of a local football/rugby/netball team or other sport activity
  • Someone with a history of voluntary work
