The Shropshire Care group has a Mental Health Liaison (MHL) B6 opportunity. We are looking to employ qualified RMN practitioners that have experience of assessing people who have experienced a Mental Health Crisis; knowledge of physical health conditions and how these can affect a person's presentation would be beneficial though not obligatory, as we recognise that this can be part of a development plan. The role requires a robust clinician with good decision making skills who can work independently and as part of a team and be available to work as part of a 24/7 rota.Interested applicants are encouraged to make contact with the team to talk about the roles, the demands and challenges of working within another NHS Trust and how changing legislation and guidance support and guide our service. If one of these people is not available then any member of the team can answer some questions about the roles.Internal and external secondments are welcomeMain duties of the jobThe main duties of the role are as follows;
  • to provide a 1 hour response to the A+E department when referrals are made for people who have attended and require mental health support and assessment.
  • to provide a 24 hr response to the wards in the hospital for people who have been admitted and need support and assessment of their mental health.
  • to support colleagues within the general hospital in their education and learning about mental health presentations and the role of the Liaison Mental Health Team.
