Job descriptionBehaviour Support Tutor (Outreach) needed in Barking and DagenhamABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is currently seeking a Team Teach trained Behaviour Support Tutor to deliver bespoke, 1:1 education packages to young people who are not attending school due to complex behavioural needs in Barking and Dagenham.As a Behaviour Support Tutor, you will be responsible for creating and delivering personalised lessons that not only address gaps in learning but also focus on re-engaging students through structure, consistency, and therapeutic approaches. Many of the young people you’ll support will present with challenging behaviours, emotional regulation difficulties, or previous school exclusions, so a calm, resilient, and empathetic approach is essential.This role is ideal for experienced education professionals – including Behaviour Mentors, SEN Tutors, and teachers – who are passionate about making a meaningful impact outside of the traditional classroom. Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to track student progress and support successful outcomes.CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Full time/part time – Flexible hours available (part-time/full-time based on availability)
  • Minimum rate of pay – From £25 per hour
  • Hours – Sessions range from a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 3 hours per day
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Team Teach trained (essential)
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural, or additional needs
  • QTS, QTLS, or relevant tutoring/mentoring qualifications (desirable but not essential)
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (training can be provided)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
