- Be a trusted advisor to Project Directors and Teams by providing strategic and commercial financial guidance and constructive challenge to drive performance and optimise outcomes.
- Act as the Finance Lead on Regulatory submissions, Project Review Boards, and other Governance and Performance forums.
- Provide accurate financial insights to Project Directors and Project teams to support decision-making, track financial performance and drive positive action.
- Lead finance in securing regulatory funding and identify risks while optimising opportunities.
- Work with the FP&A team to ensure that formal budgets and forecasts (cash and VOWD) are correctly & accurately captured in the finance budget system and all central budget reporting requirements are met.
- Significant experience in a senior finance position, ideally with large capital projects or infrastructure investment experience, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- The ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders in the business and within the finance function, with experience of leading on working in high value cross functional projects.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of commercial risks impacting major capital projects and the ability to provide strategic insights and recommendations to influence decision-making.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and financial governance related to RIIO price controls or similar environments (desirable but not essential).
