- Understand the UK Rail Operation/Standards and have good geographical knowledge of the region.
- Have previous experience within the Rail Industry as an engineer, driver or on track machine operator
- Have past or present Railway Route Knowledge of the region (Driver/Operator)
- Flexible, honest & punctual – Able to work weekends, bank holidays and a mixture of days and nights as part of a 24/7 shift-based roster. Willingness to stay away from home (at company expense) when required.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Windows
- Have a Full UK Driving Licence
- Hold a level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering background required for Fitter/Operator
- Psychometric pass required for Driver/Operator.
- Attend all required training for the roles of Driver/Operator or Operator/Fitter or combination of all to become a Driver/Operator/Fitter
- Committed to personal development and attend all relevant training.
- Reporting, recording any real time issues including incidents, accidents and environmental occurrences in a professional and efficient manner informing the appropriate parties in the correct timescales in accordance with Company procedures.
- Communicating and escalating machine service faults & failures as necessary to our maintenance department including all issues affecting operational shift
- performance.
- Ensuring all activities are undertaken in accordance with policies, procedures and safety rules.
- Achieving high standards through determination, commitment, and motivation.
- Pre-employment medicals and DBS check will be required for all safety critical roles.
- Maintaining personal route knowledge and develop this as required (Driver/Operator)
