This hands-on position requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, the Fitter Machinist contributes to the production of complex mechanical systems while continuously developing their technical skills.Key Responsibilities
  • Assembles and fits mechanical components and sub-assemblies for robotic test machines with precision and care
  • Operates milling machines, lathes, and other workshop equipment to manufacture high-quality parts
  • Reads and interprets technical drawings and assembly instructions to ensure accurate builds
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Collaborates with team members to troubleshoot mechanical issues and enhance machine performance
  • Performs detailed assembly and fitting tasks requiring fine motor skills and dexterity, particularly for small and intricate components
  • Supports machine upgrades, modifications, and customizations as needed
Experience and Qualifications
  • Qualified machinist/fitter with proven hands-on experience in mechanical assembly and fitting
  • Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and standard workshop techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
  • Effective problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or engineering setting is highly desirable
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic, evolving industry
