- Name on Specialist Register OR within six months of obtaining a CCT at the time of the interview.
- CCT/ CESR in Intensive Care Medicine
- FFICM or EDIC or DICM
- Other Higher Degree or Diploma
- FUSIC/ FICE
- Broad based general experience in the care of the acute and critically ill adult, commensurate with the CCT training programmes in ICM
- Specialist skills or experience acquired during post CCT fellowship
- An understanding of the strategic and operational issues underpinning clinical governance and their application in daily practice and evidence of such
- Demonstrated involvement in risk management process.
- Development of clinical guidelines
- Evidence of participation in audit
- Evidence of completed audit projects.
- Evidence of participation in quality improvement
- Involvement with regional/national audit
- Evidence of completed quality improvement projects.
- Evidence of wider dissemination of quality improvement initiatives
- Ability to access published evidence.
- Understanding of principles of research method.

- Evidence of a commitment to teaching trainees.
- GMC recognition as a clinical supervisor

- Additional experience with critical care echocardiography and /or ultrasound.
- Advanced IT skills e.g. expertise with office software , web authoring
