Fire Safety Manager

• Provide confident leadership and clear management of fire safety operations and high-risk programmes, ensuring strategic alignment with Council policies
• Act as the strategic lead for fire safety, including liaison with Avon Fire & Rescue Service and oversight of statutory compliance
• Lead on the development and practical implementation of fire safety strategies and building safety procedures
• Manage the Fire Risk Assessment contractor, remedial actions, and fire safety audits, ensuring high standards and accountability
• Champion resident engagement, particularly in high-risk housing, ensuring fire safety concerns are addressed effectively and empathetically

• Proven experience in a senior fire safety or building safety role within housing, local authority, or similar regulated environments
• Strong working knowledge of current fire safety legislation, building regulations, and compliance frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, high-risk safety projects and contract performance
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and advise at all levels, including residents and external agencies
• Experience developing fire safety procedures and risk management approaches, especially in vulnerable or high-occupancy housing
