- Assist with high-profit trades, negotiating trade terms and liaising with counsel where necessary.
- Support the trading team in reviewing and negotiating NDA and transfer provisions.
- Analyse legal, regulatory, and other challenges surrounding equity positions in restructured companies.
- Obtain necessary sign-offs and inputs on trades, liaising with different groups throughout J.P. Morgan.
- Provide advice and support for debt buy-back transactions and input on market initiatives.
- Support J.P. Morgan's closing group through the trade settlement lifecycle.
- Work alongside salespeople and traders on trade terms and NDA requirements.
- Liaise with various teams across J.P. Morgan to aid understanding of the loan product.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and legal/regulatory requirements.
- Drive management and strategic growth of the European Leveraged Finance Trading business.
- Demonstrable post-qualification experience with a major City law firm or equivalent with an in-house legal department/trading desk of a complex financial institution.
- Experience with drafting and negotiating credit documentation, including trade documentation.
- Strong verbal and written skills, along with outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Mature personality to enable various direct company and investor interaction.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Intellectual curiosity and a heightened willingness to learn new skills and new elements of law and regulation across multiple jurisdictions, so that potential issues are pre-emptively considered and succinctly presented.
