- Develop, review, and implement health and safety policies and procedures tailored to our operational needs.
- Lead risk assessments and create practical, preventative solutions.
- Champion safety on the shop floor-visible, approachable, and ready with guidance.
- Conduct inspections, lead audits, and drive continuous improvement in safety practices.
- Collaborate daily with R&D, Production, Facilities, and teams across all levels of the business.
- Manage relationships with contractors, local authorities, and the HSE.
- Support the safe installation of equipment and contractor compliance.
- Lead safety committee involvement and provide technical guidance on legislation and procedures.
- Analyse incidents, report insights, and implement preventative measures.
- Communicate safety updates through reports, newsletters, and bulletins.
- Keep all documentation up to date and compliant with current regulations.
- Proven experience in a health and safety role within manufacturing or another high-risk setting.
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE law, with the ability to apply it practically and confidently.
- Outstanding communication-clear, calm, honest, and engaging with all levels.
- Ability to manage priorities independently and handle a dynamic, varied workload.
- A trustworthy, dependable team player who inspires confidence across the organisation.
