When required, you will stand in as a Technical Operator. Technical Operators are accountable for carrying out tasks within the machinery.The role requires a proactive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude who is committed to maintaining high standards in production whilst working as part of a dynamic team. Must want to progress within your team as you will be trained to step into the permanent role when needed. Will be required to move lines across the factory as and when required.What will be your key deliverables?Manually pack products within specifications (includes bending, lifting, stretching)Visually check for foreign matter / hazardsEnsure quality of biscuits being packed is within product specificationsEnsure adherence to all quality and safety standards.Work to a high standard, enabling plants to achieve planned output.Report any problems to ATM/SupervisorEnsure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained.Support the Supervisors in the introduction and support of any improvement initiatives.Provide a co-ordinated link with all production processes on the line.Technical Operator responsibilitiesPrioritise and agree allocation of tasks within Technical Operator TeamTake ownership and accountability for Supply Chain Excellence in the area (including Tiered Meetings and SCE Boards)Establish high standards of work and work proactively in developing continuous improvement within the areaCarry out all pre-start checksEnsure product is made to the correct quality and specification for start of shift and throughoutUnderstand equipment and machinery set upEnsure changeovers are completed to procedure Ensure any re-work procedures are followedCarry out machine changeoversEnsure product is to correct quality and specification, make adjusts to machinery settings to maintain product consistencyEnsure all documentation is filled in correctly and to the right standardAlways maintain everyday factory standards safelyShift handovers are completed in area and to agreed agendaTrain peers and new operatives in equipment use and procedures when requiredUndertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenanceEnsure team understand the planning of their daily tasksCommunicate directly with relevant person to resolve any issuePrioritise and agree allocation of tasks within Technical Operator TeamMachine fault identification, diagnosis and rectification (where applicable)Confirm and prioritise production activity in line with production planBring your experienceEssentialBasic numerical and literacy knowledgeManual dexterityBasic communication skillsBasic problem recognitionExcellent team working skillsBe able to multi-task and have the drive and tenacity to work under your own initiativePositive attitude and willingness to drive change within operational environmentDesirablePrevious experience is desirable but not essential, training will be given.Knowledge of manufacturing environment and of HACCP and safe systems of workUnderstand zonal Key Performance Indicators (production targets, waste levels and line performance)What does the recruitment process consist of?Assessments – Swift Comprehensive Aptitude assessment along with a Workplace English assessment.
